About me

Hello! My name is Jeongwoo Lee. I am a senior high school student in the governor's health science academy at Cosby high school.

Since my childhood, I have been very sensitive to danger which led me to tireless research for information about safety protocols, security, and disease prevention. It has shaped me as a leader of safety around my peers and further developed special interests in immunology, pathology, and infectious disease, as well as other medical science research to preserve human lives. In addition, technological innovation has intrigued me. I have been involved in Mocap, VR and Biomedical engineering research under Dr. Krusienski. Since 9th grade, I underwent intensive rehabilitation for my scoliosis, and approaching surgery. This clinical challenge led me to adapt resiliently under time and physical pressures. Rehabilitation also triggered thoughts in me regarding potential treatments involving technology and treatments’ ethical implications.
As a result of the amalgamation of my medical and technological interests, I decided to create blogs to bring information/awareness about the interlinkage between medicine and technological innovation. The developments of technology over time according to Moore’s law is crucial to understanding the evolution of medicine from the past to our modern society. With my blogs, I wish to bring a higher awareness regarding the critical bond between healthcare and technological advances. The reason for this is to diffuse the life-changing potential that the products of engineers for the future bring to medicine, potentially shaping the standard of safety and ethics in practice. Specifically, I wish to focus on med-tech innovations dedicated to improving patient outcomes. Recognizing the advancements on patient care through this area is important for meaningful future implications/discussions.
I hope this blog will lead to people recognizing the significance of healthcare and its potential augmented by innovation; holding medicine with greater compassion, gratitude, and respect. These blogs will be uploaded around every month. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns regarding my blogs! (See “Contact” Tab)
